Five people were injured after a shooting Wednesday afternoon in Dayton, Ohio, with police responding to the scene on Westwood Avenue. All of the injuries are considered non-life-threatening.
The Montgomery County Regional Dispatch said crews were called to the area at around 4:10 p.m. after a report of a shooting.
Three victims were taken to Miami Valley Hospital, while two were transported to Dayton Children’s. One of the children was among those shot, while the other was not. All of the victims are expected to recover from their injuries.
A 911 caller reported that multiple people had been shot in what was described as a drive-by shooting.
The caller told dispatchers that her sister had been shot in the right shoulder and was heard comforting others who were in distress.
No suspects were in custody, according to Dayton 24/7.
Authorities said they did not believe there was an ongoing threat to the community.
