Man dies after falling from roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia

A man died after falling from the Goliath roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia on Monday, forcing the evacuation of riders from a stopped train.

In a statement shared with WSB-TV, Six Flags Over Georgia said it was “deeply saddened” by the incident and offered condolences to the man’s family and loved ones.

The park said it was providing support to affected guests and employees and cooperating with local authorities as they investigate. Out of respect for the family’s privacy, the park said it would not release further details.

One person online claimed the fall was captured by the park’s souvenir camera, writing, “The guy fell and hit the ride 3 separate times and was captured on souvenir camera.” The claim has not been independently verified.

Aerial video showed the ride stopped on the track around 5 p.m., with workers escorting riders out of the cars and onto a staircase.

The cause of the incident remains unknown. Authorities have not released the man’s identity or provided further details about the circumstances of his death.

Goliath opened in 2006 and reaches speeds of up to 70 mph, with a height of about 200 feet, according to Six Flags.
