A knife attack at a vocational school in the city of Wuxi, eastern China, left eight people dead and seventeen others injured. According to reports, the motive behind the brutal act was the attacker’s frustration over failing an exam and dissatisfaction with the low pay he received for his internship.
The attack unfolded on Saturday at the Vocational Institute of Arts and Technology. Local police have identified the perpetrator as a 21-year-old student who, investigators believe, lashed out in a fit of rage.
“He chose to vent his frustration through violence,” a statement noted.
Disturbing footage shared on social media showed injured victims lying in the streets, sparking widespread shock and concern.
This incident is part of a recent wave of attacks targeting random people in China. Earlier this week, a separate tragedy occurred in Zhuhai, where a man drove a car into a crowd at a sports facility, killing 35 and injuring 43.
